Yogyakarta (29/2/24) – With the rise of digital transformation and literacy, this decade has seen the rapid development of digital marketing. In 2023, a research found that before deciding to buy a product, more than 80 percent of consumers tend to research the product online first, which indicates the importance of every brand’s digital marketing strategy (Andersen, 2023). Responding to this trend, the Center for Digital Society (CfDS) at UGM organized a Decision #9 discussion entitled “Crafting Standout Brands in the Digital Creative Era.” The discussion was conducted on Thursday (29/2) and invited Vika Mafaza Samudra, the Managing Director of Pameo, a startup that focuses on providing graphic design, branding, digital marketing, and website development services. The event was held online and broadcasted live through the CfDS UGM YouTube account through the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JRuHhVtMio.
In her presentation, Vika Samudra, the guest speaker, delivered the topic of “Mastering the Art of Brand Marketing.” At the beginning of her discussion, Vika conveyed the importance of visual branding in marketing products or services. Ideally, a brand visualization is developed from the vision, mission, and target audience of the respective brand, instead of merely following trends. Furthermore, visual branding needs to be communicated consistently. Vika emphasized that consistent delivery of visual branding is an important factor in building consumers’ trust. When communicating brand visualization, social media is an important, convenient, and effective tool at the present time.
Then, Vika explained an option for a visual branding strategy that can be implemented, along with the process flow. This flow includes the stages of research, brainstorming, production, review, and evaluation. In the process of executing these steps, Vika suggested not to impose all the existing trends, to provide plenty of options for social media contents, and to listen to the suggestions of consumers and other stakeholders to develop an optimal strategy. Vika supports a visual branding communication strategy that is well targeted and in line with the intended target audience.
Concluding the discussion, related to Pameo services that are often commented on as providing many “free” services, Vika answered that, “Pameo is happy to help changemakers communicate what our changemakers really want to communicate. Through what? It can also be design, it can be video, it can be a website, and also social media.”
