The incoming of alternative job sectors of profession in this era has provided us with a sense of freedom and flexibility to create innovation by utilizing the digital technology
Center for Digital Society celebrates its 23rd Digitalk session on Wednesday, 14th November 2018 by collaborating with Kompas and Rumah Kebangsaan to bring the topic of “entrepreneurship; the alternative job sector in the fourth industrial revolution era”. The session was moderated by Erika Widyaningsih from Rumah Kebangsaan.
The first speaker, Dwi Purnomo from “The Local Enablers”, spoke about his innovation of social entrepreneurship business through his community of the local enablers. Inspired by numerous social problems around his environment, he began to encourage and empower the youth people to create innovation by utilizing the existing technology. The Local Enablers also pushes the emergence of a company that not merely struggling to make profit, but also happiness, competency and social empathy for the environment or ecosystem surrounding its work.
Then, the second speaker, Pamitra Wineka, the president of “TaniFund”, spoke about the magic of financial technology, Tanifund itself is a P2P landing startup company which focus on funding on agricultural sector. Pamitra told the audience about his work to collaborate with farmers to teach them about alternative funding source, which can be found through online financial technology (fintech). Fintech itself offers numerous merits such as ease of access, low interest rate and wide coverage.
Lastly, the Director of Business Development and Incubation (PUI) UGM, Mr. Hargo Utomo, delivered his view on how to prepare the next generation that can comply with the change of landscape in the digital economy era. University student as the agent of change shall own high competency and self-control to consistently create changes and innovation that can benefit the society. “Business is every single activities that can be used to create value” told Hargo. Therefore, the improvement of human resource and social capability should be prioritized. The value of curiousity, creativity and courage are the most important things that must be understood by the youth generation to improve their own productivity and increase their contribution to Indonesia.
