Press Release: National Digital Literacy Movement #SiBerkreasi Invites Netizen to Spread Positive Content Online

Jakarta, October 2, 2017 - Today, National Movement of Digital Literacy #SiBekreasi invited all elements of society and community to actively spread positive content on cyberspace. The event was attended by Minister of Communications and Informatics, Rudiantara, Director General of Informatics Applications, Ministry of Informatics and Communications, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan; Chairman #SiBerkreasi, Dedy Permadi; Digital Literacy Observer, Nukman Lutfie; representatives of the digital literacy activist community.                     
This movement appeared from the anxiety of various elements of society to its size the potential threat of a dangerous spread of negative content in the world if not properly managed. Ministry of Informatics and Communications data records up to now there are more than 800 thousand websites in Indonesia indicated as spreading false news, hate speech, provocative content related to religion and ethnic sentiment, pornography, hoaxes, drugs, terrorism, and so on. Everyone, regardless of educational level can easily stuck with slander and inedible fake news and disseminate it through social media.
Negative content also triggers the emergence of cyberbullying. Of the 80% of Indonesians who using the internet, only 42% are aware of the dangers of cyberbullying. And everyone potentially victims, and perpetrators. (Research involves 400 respondents aged 10-19 years from 12 provinces in Indonesia. No less worried, all this negative content is potentially consumed by users the internet is 80% of which young people aged 10-29 years and 30 million of whom are children. The main problem in Indonesia is the rapid growth of internet users not followed by digital literacy or education on how to use it.

This effort can only be effective if we do it in a massive, systematic, and synergistic way. #Siberkreasi is presented to facilitate joint work of all components. So, the key is 'Working together', "said Dedy Permadi, Chairman of #SiBerkreasi Movement.
Minister of Communications and Informatics, Rudiantara, supports this movement #Siberkreasi "National Movement of Digital Literacy #Siberkreasi is the result of multi-stakeholder cooperation, starting from the community literacy activists, influencers, and governments. Aims to encourage people to create more positive content on the internet, reduce and counter deployment negative content as well as participate in educating the generation to become a wise internet actors. Kemenkominfo as a government representative supports 100% of this movement. "

#SiBerkreasi move through several steps, namely pushing the entry of literacy content digital in the curriculum of formal education and training of Civil State Apparatus, encourage the spread of positive content in popular form widely in the community, and support the existence and encourage the birth of community, volunteers, and ambassadors of content Positive in each area.
On the same occasion, the digital literacy activist community also made declarations for support this movement.

Through this video, #SiBerkreasi reminds us to be more careful and smart in the term of consuming information circulated in cyberspace. Call for 'first check' of an information can be a simple step to counter the circulation of fake news (hoax) and can be done by anyone.

Grand Launching #SiBerkreasi Fair
#SiBerkreasi Fair will be present on 27-29 October 2017 at Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO), Kemayoran (TBC Location). This festival will be enlivened by various discussions around literasi digital and creative activities of the community of digital literacy activists that can be followed by the general public, especially young people.
