[SPECIAL COVERAGE] Kraton Yogyakarta Launched kratonjogja.id

On March 7th, Kraton Yogyakarta launched the official website of kratonjogja.id. The launch was made official by the King himself, His Majesty Sri Sultan HB X, at Bangsal Sri Manganti, Kraton Yogyakarta. The website comes as the manifestation of modern presentation and preservation of Javanese culture, especially Yogyakarta’s. Beside the Sultan, the launch was also attended by important stakeholders in the region, namely the Head of Communication and Informatics Body of Yogyakarta, the Regional Head of Indosat-Ooredoo, and fellow media. The night was also to celebrate the 28th year of Sri Sultan HB X’s reign in the Sultanate.

“The digital era should be commemorated as the era where cultural values and heritages can be further extended and amplified,” noted the Sultan.

Kratonjogja.id was part of the digital team of Kraton Yogyakarta, along with its social media platforms as well. The person behind the team, GKR Hayu, (the Sultan’s fourth daughter) was enthused to share the new ways of promoting and preserving her – and our – sacred culture. The digital team is called Tepas Tandha Yekti.  “It all began with my wedding ceremony which was widely documented. From that, I realized that the culture of Jogja had not been well documented, stored, preserved and shared. This is why we initiated Tepas Tandha Yekti.” The team was officially enacted in June 2014 and now has attracted 27000 followers on Facebook (Kraton Jogja), 12000 followers on Twitter (@kratonjogja), and 34000 followers on Instagram(@kratonjogja_).
